2 Arrested After Drugs, Ghost Gun, and AR-Style Pistol Seized in Waldorf Search

Waldorf, Maryland – Two people were arrested this week after law enforcement officers executing a search warrant in Waldorf recovered a large quantity of suspected illegal drugs, cash, and multiple firearms, including a ghost gun and an AR-style pistol, authorities said.

The operation took place on December 22 in the 3000 block of Gallery Place, where investigators had been focusing on an ongoing drug distribution investigation, according to the Charles County Sheriff’s Office.

Search warrant execution uncovers drugs and weapons

Officials said multiple law enforcement agencies participated in the search, which led to the seizure of suspected narcotics valued at more than $15,000. Among the drugs recovered were approximately five ounces of suspected PCP, more than 70 grams of cocaine and crack cocaine, and quantities of MDMA, commonly known as ecstasy.

In addition to the suspected drugs, deputies located drug production and manufacturing equipment, indicating that the residence may have been used not only for distribution but also for preparing illegal substances for sale. Investigators also seized more than $3,000 in cash, which authorities believe may be tied to drug sales.

Ghost gun and AR-style pistol seized

The search also resulted in the recovery of several firearms, raising additional concerns for investigators. Authorities said the weapons seized included a loaded 9mm ghost gun with no serial number, a second 9mm handgun, and an AR-style pistol. Deputies also confiscated loaded high-capacity magazines during the operation.

Ghost guns, which are typically assembled from kits or parts and lack serial numbers, are particularly difficult for law enforcement to trace and have increasingly been linked to violent crime and illegal trafficking cases nationwide.

Two Waldorf residents arrested

Following the search, two Waldorf residents were taken into custody and charged in connection with the investigation.

Officials identified one suspect as Rekeia Reid, 25, who is facing a charge of possession with intent to distribute controlled dangerous substances. Court records show that a judge ordered Reid held without bond at the Charles County Detention Center on December 23.

The second individual, D’Vontay Allen, 24, was charged with firearms violations related to the weapons seized during the search. Authorities said Allen was released from custody but is currently subject to electronic monitoring while the case proceeds.

Investigation remains ongoing

The Charles County Sheriff’s Office said the investigation is still active, and detectives continue to review evidence collected during the search. Officials have not confirmed whether additional charges or arrests are expected as the case develops.

Law enforcement agencies often pursue extended investigations in drug distribution cases, especially when firearms and large quantities of narcotics are involved. Authorities typically work to identify supply chains, associates, and potential connections to wider trafficking networks.

Broader public safety concerns

Officials have repeatedly emphasized the dangers associated with illegal drug distribution combined with firearms. The presence of high-capacity magazines and untraceable weapons such as ghost guns increases the risk of violence in residential neighborhoods, particularly when drug trafficking is involved.

Residents in Waldorf are encouraged to report suspicious activity to local authorities, as tips from the community can play a key role in disrupting illegal operations and preventing violence.

What happens next

As the legal process moves forward, prosecutors will determine how to proceed based on forensic testing of the seized substances, ballistic analysis of the firearms, and any additional evidence uncovered during the investigation. Court dates for the suspects are expected to be scheduled in the coming weeks.

For now, authorities say their focus remains on ensuring public safety and holding those involved accountable under the law.
