Bloomington, IN – An 18-year-old woman has been arrested after allegedly shooting a person in the leg on the Indiana University Bloomington campus early Saturday morning. Authorities say the incident resulted in non-life-threatening injuries.

Shooting Occurs Early Morning on Campus

According to the IU Police and Public Safety, officers responded to the area near 10th and Walnut Grove streets around 3 a.m. on August 23. Upon arrival, they found the victim had been shot in the leg and was immediately taken to a local hospital for treatment.

The suspect initially fled the scene in a vehicle but was later detained by police.

Investigation Details

Police confirmed that the incident was an isolated domestic situation and that neither the victim nor the suspect is affiliated with Indiana University. No other injuries were reported at the scene.

Charges Filed

The suspect has been preliminarily charged with aggravated battery and criminal recklessness. Authorities continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the shooting.
