American Airlines Passenger Locates Missing Luggage at Hollywood Homeless Encampment

A passenger on American Airlines found that her lost bag ended up in a homeless camp in Hollywood, California, but none of the things inside were there.

She told KABC-TV that her bag had a much longer journey than she did. Aunny Grace flew into Hollywood Burbank Airport from Dallas.

It was sent to Denver. Then it went from Denver to Dallas and back to Burbank. After five days, it finally got back to Burbank, she told the TV station.

Fox News Digital tried to get a statement from Grace, American Airlines, and the Burbank Police Department but did not hear back.

At one point, Grace was told that her bags had been found and brought to her house. But an Apple AirTag in her bag moved it to a different spot.

“The AirTag said it was in Hollywood, so I looked at it. “When I saw my bag moving slowly down Western Avenue, I knew something wasn’t right,” she said.

The bag was finally found by the AirTag near the Hollywood corner of Santa Monica Boulevard and Western Avenue. Then she saw that it was in the middle of one of Los Angeles’s homeless camps.

“I felt ashamed. “I was shocked and couldn’t believe it,” Grace said. “I was shocked so badly that I didn’t even know where I was.” Where is my stuff? “Where do I even begin to look?”

“I just started grabbing my stuff, crying, vendors are on the street looking at me, crying like grabbing my stuff out of this cart,” she told me.

Grace was with a friend who went with her. The friend gave money to a poor person to get her bag back. The airport said it was looking into how the bag got to a homeless person after traveling so far.

American Airlines told KABC, “We work hard to make sure that our customers’ checked luggage and other items get to their destinations on time and in the same condition they were in when they left.”

“We are investigating what occurred here and, in the meantime, a member of our team is in contact with the customer to apologize and resolve the issue.”
